Set over the course of a single night, The Daredevils of the Purple Iguanas is a "Disco Rashomon" that retells the same unfolding catastrophe through four wildly different perspectives: a media mogul, a fading movie star, a rising political candidate, and a troubled television icon. Blending fantasy, satire, romance, mystery, and musical spectacle, the film explores the myths television creates about power, celebrity, beauty, and the American Dream. As reality begins to fracture, each character becomes trapped inside their own televised fantasy, revealing a world where media mythology has become more powerful than truth itself. Equal parts fairy tale and fever dream, Iguanas is a darkly comic exploration of fame, identity, and the stories we tell ourselves to survive.The Daredevils of the Purple Iguanas is currently in active packaging and finance. The project is slated for production in Malta and is supported by an expanding team of financing, sales, and production partners. Current milestones include engagement with Film Finances on completion bond support, Goldcrest for post-production, FilmChain for collection account management, and Safier Entertainment for international sales representation. The project has a director, Alessandro Derviso, and actress Luisa Rubino attached in a lead role, with additional casting, financing, and strategic partnerships currently in development.
